BD5 spring durability and fit

The Yokomo YOKBDBTCS BD5 belt tension cam spring is supplied as an aftermarket metal replacement for the BD5 belt tension cam assembly on 1/10 touring cars. It is intended to deliver a predictable preload that helps keep belt tracking consistent and supports repeatable drivetrain setup.

Fitting is simple: remove the belt tension cam from the BD5 unit, replace the stock spring with this part, then reassemble while verifying belt tension through the suspension travel range. Make gradual adjustments and carry out test runs to ensure the cam returns correctly and the belt runs smoothly.

Tuning guidance: this spring alters cam return force and so influences belt behaviour under load. Small preload changes can affect feel and sound; tune in small increments and check performance on the track. This component is for RC use and should be installed with basic hobby tools.
