Carbon Chassis Upgrade for B-MAX4 III

Arrowmax designed the AM-MAX4-011 as a drop-in carbon fibre chassis plate for the Yokomo B-MAX4 III chassis to alter flex characteristics and thermal behaviour for specific track needs. Made from Q-Grade multi-directional carbon, the plate gives higher transverse stiffness than many alternatives while keeping overall weight low.

Notable measured changes versus the factory plate include a mass reduction from about 127g to roughly 66g and a reworked flex profile that favours mid-to-low bite compliance. A honeycomb-patterned cutout beneath the motor area increases airflow around the motor to help control temperatures during longer runs.

The unit is direct-replace and retains the B-MAX4 III mounting and screw positions. When fitting, confirm fastener torque and check clearances around the motor pocket and electronics to ensure airflow through the honeycomb openings is maintained. This plate modifies chassis tuning by pairing lower weight with tuned transverse stiffness, suiting lower-grip tracks or setups that need extra measured flex.

Racers looking for a lighter chassis blank with a different transverse stiffness curve for the B-MAX4 III will find the AM-MAX4-011 focuses stiffness where needed and adds a motor-area honeycomb to help airflow, while keeping factory mounting geometry intact.

No special parts are required; the plate is made to use the stock B-MAX4 III mounting points. Just use proper screw sizes and check torque settings.
On lower-grip surfaces it can produce a more usable flex and reduced weight that helps traction and rotation, but overall lap time gains depend on setup and driver style.
Measure motor temps over extended runs with your usual body and cooling arrangements; the honeycomb recess aims to increase airflow but results depend on mounting and ventilation.
