DP-APEX from Yokomo Engineered for Consistent Slides

The Yokomo DP-APEX 1/10 electric RC drift car kit reproduces the A'PEX D1 Project FD3S, modelled after the 2004 Mazda RX-7 competition machine. This kit combines careful scale replication with components chosen for drift stability and control.

Chassis Layout and Drive System

The MR-4TC SD chassis provides race-derived suspension geometry that helps the car behave predictably during transitions. The shaft-driven full-time 4WD delivers smooth power distribution, and Yokomo Super Drift tyres are supplied to aid sustained cornering and drift angle.

Authentic Styling and Finishing Options

The sculpted body includes a pronounced GT wing, aerodynamic mirrors and detailed rims to match the prototype. Official decal artwork and optional lighting accessories let builders present an accurate static model when it is not being driven.

What basic items do I need to finish the kit?

To complete the DP-APEX you will need a 2-channel radio set with transmitter and receiver, a speed controller, a compatible servo, a motor, a battery and charger, plus paint for the polycarbonate body.

Which tyres work best for indoor drift mats?

Yokomo Super Drift tyres are supplied to balance grip and slip for indoor mats, but swapping tyre compounds and widths is a common way to fine tune balance and angle.

Can I fit a different differential setup?

Yes, the DP-APEX accepts optional differentials such as LSD ball diffs and other upgrade options to alter power transfer and cornering behaviour.
