R12 left rear hub ver.2 details

The Yokomo R12-24HL2 is an RC-scale left rear hub made for the R12 chassis. In this ver.2 the clamp is moved from the wheel-mount face to the bulkhead side and the hub uses a counterbalanced profile to offset the weight of the fixing screws.

Shifting the clamp to the bulkhead side improves local weight balance and reduces rotational wobble, which helps keep tyre contact steadier during rotation and can improve traction characteristics. With the clamp on the bulkhead side, the hub can be removed or refitted while the wheel remains mounted, which eases quick pit work in damp conditions.

The ver.2 shape also speeds up swapping the height adapter when altering tyre diameter, so ride-height and corner-weight adjustments can be carried out more efficiently during setup. Fitment is specified for the Yokomo R12 chassis.

Is the ver.2 clamp position more robust than the original design?

By relocating the clamp to the bulkhead side and using a counterbalanced form, the ver.2 reduces wobble and concentrates load differently. This can lead to steadier behaviour under use, though overall durability still depends on operating conditions.

Does the counterbalanced geometry affect wear patterns?

The counterbalanced profile offsets the screw mass to stabilise rotation, which helps maintain consistent tyre contact and can reduce irregular wear on rotating assemblies over time.

Any servicing tips for the height adapter and hub?

Keep threads and fasteners clean when swapping the height adapter; the ver.2 allows faster swaps but proper cleaning and inspection will protect parts and ensure correct fitment for the R12 chassis.
