Spring function and benefits

The Yokomo YOKRP-080 Linear Ultra Shock Spring 3.0 is made for RC shock assemblies where a linear-rate characteristic is required. The 3.0 designation identifies the specific spring rate and it works well in touring and pan car setups that need repeatable suspension behavior.

Use this spring when you require uniform compression and rebound without the ramp-up of a progressive spring. Keeping the spring rate constant helps you judge changes to damper oil, piston choice, or preload because the spring influence remains predictable.

Fitting is conventional: remove the shock cap and shaft assembly, slide off the existing spring, then place the new spring over the shock shaft and onto the retainer. Clean seating surfaces and verify matching preload and free length between left and right shocks after installation.

Tuning guidance: spring swaps are a key tool to alter chassis balance and cornering roll. A firmer linear spring gives more resistance through the stroke, cutting body roll and increasing mid-corner support. A softer linear spring improves compliance and grip on low-traction surfaces. Pair spring changes with measured preload tweaks to adjust ride height and initial response before changing damper valving.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Steel springs are robust for regular hobby use; longevity depends on load cycles and environmental exposure. Inspect for wear or corrosion periodically.
Steel can corrode if exposed to moisture and salt. Keep springs clean and dry, and consider light protective coatings if you run in wet conditions.
They are suitable where a linear characteristic is preferred. Check your class rules for approved spring rates and confirm fitment with your shock hardware.
