Grade 45 Clear Silicone Shock Oil

The Yokomo RP-113450 RP Ultra Shock Oil #45 (Clear) serves as a silicone-based damping fluid for R/C shocks, intended to refine damper behavior in silicone-equipped units. The RP Ultra line now features more granular viscosity increments and an easy color-code to speed up setup swaps.

Grade #45 (clear) gives a medium damping level that helps tune the balance between rebound and compression. Swapping to a lighter or heavier RP Ultra grade affects roll and weight transfer; change one grade at a time and evaluate on the same course to see practical differences.

For shock servicing, empty the old oil, flush internals if necessary, and refill at a controlled pace to avoid entrained air. Work the shaft to release bubbles, then top the unit to the correct level. Keep a dedicated, clean syringe or dispenser for silicone oils to avoid mixing grades.
