This SD-003M upper deck from Yokomo is a graphite upper plate intended for 1/10-scale drift RC use. It functions as the structural top member between the front and rear towers, affecting chassis torsion, roll response, and overall balance during drift setups. As an RC-scale accessory the part is described only in the context of model chassis tuning and replacement.

Fitment is normally simple for experienced builders: take off the original deck fasteners, verify that the SD-003M mounting holes line up with your tower posts, then refit using the stock hardware when compatible. Check that the plate sits flat on the bulkheads and that servo arms, ESC cables, and body mounts are clear. Some cars need short spacers or different screw lengths, so inspect clearance before final torque.

From a setup viewpoint the graphite construction increases top deck stiffness relative to thin plastic, which reduces unwanted chassis twist and tends to make turn-in crisper. Drivers tune deck stiffness alongside other chassis elements to move load distribution; a stiffer deck shifts load transfer and tightens transitions, while a softer deck smooths breakaway and can aid traction control. Experiment incrementally on-track to dial in lock and throttle feel.

Confirm the hole pattern and tower spacing match your chassis, ensure the deck sits flat on the bulkheads, and verify there is no contact with wiring or linkages. If anything binds, correct screw length or add shims.
Usually not, as stock fasteners often work. However some builds require shorter or longer screws to achieve proper thread engagement and clearance. Use proper thread engagement and avoid over-torquing to protect threads.
Check that the new deck does not press on the servo horn or ESC leads when mounted. If clearance is tight, reposition wiring or use small spacers under the deck to prevent chafing.
