Role and construction of the SSG rear tower

Manufactured in SS graphite, this rear shock tower is intended for the SSG conversion applied in drift packages and serves as an aftermarket upgrade to the stock rear tower. The part provides the structural mounting points for the rear shock absorbers and contributes to increased stiffness in the rear subframe used on RC drift chassis.

Installation is performed as part of the SSG conversion and typically replaces the original rear tower that comes with the conversion kit. Because it is graphite, the component aims to retain minimal weight while offering greater rigidity, and it integrates using the conversion kit's existing mounting scheme. Always verify mounting alignment and clearances during installation to maintain the designed suspension geometry.

When tuning, a firmer rear tower modifies how the suspension copes with sideways loads, improving the stability of shock positions and affecting roll and traction transitions during drift maneuvers. Choose this part when you want reliable rear mounting points and a measurable change in rear stiffness for drift-oriented setups.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The SS graphite construction is selected to offer improved stiffness with low mass; in typical drift use it can provide durable, repeatable mounting but service life depends on impact exposure and setup.
SS graphite balances reduced weight with higher stiffness versus many stock plastics, helping preserve shock alignment and consistent performance in drift chassis.
Periodically inspect the tower for hairline damage after heavy impacts, ensure mounting hardware remains tight, and check that shock mounts have not loosened during use.
