Short SLF shock spring seat tailored to BD7-2014 dampers

This replacement spring cup is formed for SLF short-shock assemblies and called out for BD7-2014 dampers. It creates a stable seating surface for the coil and lets you micro-adjust spring position and preload without modifying the shock shaft or the factory spring retainer.

To install, open the damper, remove the spring and old cup, slide the new cup into the required position on the shaft or lower housing per your SLF short-shock layout, then reassemble and verify free movement. Use the existing seals and spacers to maintain oil retention and stroke geometry.

On-track, the cup alters where the spring takes load and the available preload window rather than altering internal damping. Minor cup height changes can influence initial response, roll balance and ride height. After fitting inspect for lateral movement and verify preload and travel limits before full-speed runs.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
By moving the spring seat you change preload range and initial spring engagement, which can sharpen or soften transient response and affect chassis roll characteristics. Pair changes with spring rate or anti-roll adjustments for best results.
No. The cup affects mechanical preload. Damping curves remain set by piston and oil; change them only if you need different damping to match the new spring engagement.
Small adjustments to cup height shift static spring preload and can slightly alter ride height and cornering attitude, but for larger ride-height changes consider different springs or spacers.
