The Yokomo YOKMRTCBD5W BD5 World Spec is a 1/10 touring car kit aimed at delivering repeatable handling on sealed circuits. It is engineered for hobbyists who prioritise setup accuracy and consistent lap performance.

What the World Spec brings to balance

This edition focuses on lowering mass and enhancing control. The chassis and radio plate are configured for LiPo installations so the centre of mass stays low. Carbon-fibre reinforced transverse arms and lightweight steering components cut unsprung weight while keeping rigidity where needed.

Design choices that improve traction

The BD5 uses an ultra low motor position to reduce roll moment and boost high-speed stability. Low-drag belt pulleys smooth power delivery, and a split engine block increases rear flex to help the rear tyres hold traction under acceleration.

How easy is it to change wheelbase on the BD5?

The chassis accepts wheelbase tuning between 254 mm and 259 mm, letting you tweak handling for high bite or smoother corner entry.

The World Spec uses carbon-fiber reinforced components in key locations, supplied as part of the kit to reduce mass while retaining strength.

What setup changes help rear traction?

To boost rear grip try softer rear dampers, adjust rear toe and reduce rear roll stiffness; the split engine block in this chassis also helps rear flex for more traction.
