Off-Road Front Coil Spring

This is an RC-scale front suspension spring intended for off-road use and carries the Yokomo model code YOKRP-083O. Supplied in orange, it is intended as a direct change to the spring rate and behaviour in front suspension setups on off-road RC machines.

Compatibility depends on your shock body and spring seat geometry. Verify free length and coil inner diameter against your current front springs to confirm the spring will seat securely on the shock shaft and in the retainer. Remember this is a spring element only, not a full shock unit.

Fitting is suited to those comfortable with basic shock maintenance: remove the shock from the vehicle, open the shock cap to access the spring, replace the spring and reassemble, making sure each spring is seated and that the shock shafts move freely. Keep preload consistent between left and right to maintain even handling.

Tuning perspective: altering the front springs adjusts ride height and initial softness, and changes how quickly the front end resists compression, which affects entry grip and weight transfer. Combine spring swaps with shock oil and piston decisions to fine tune overall balance for off-road tracks.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Check the spring free length and inner coil diameter, and confirm the spring fits the retainer and shock shaft without binding.
A stiffer front spring raises initial resistance to compression, often improving turn-in but reducing small-bump compliance. Balance changes with other shock settings for best results.
It is recommended to change both sides to keep balance, but for initial testing some users trial a single side then match once the desired effect is found.
