Fit and purpose for the rear end

This Yokomo YOKRP-084O Ultra Off-Road Rear Spring (Orange) is designed as a rear suspension spring for 1/10-class off-road buggies and short-course trucks. It functions as an aftermarket replacement or tuning component to change rear dynamics without needing new shock hardware.

The spring uses corrosion-resistant steel wire and an orange finish so you can quickly recognise different rates during setup. As a tuning part it emphasizes consistent mechanical behavior and a linear spring curve to help with exit traction and steadier mid-corner handling on loose surfaces.

To install on standard shocks: remove the shock cap and spring retainer, swap springs while keeping internal shims or spacers in place, then set preload and confirm the spring is seated. Check shock shafts for straightness and inspect shock oil when changing springs to keep other variables consistent while testing.

Tuning guidance: a stiffer rear spring reduces squat and often sharpens turn-in when accelerating; a softer spring increases compliance and can boost traction on rough terrain. Make small incremental changes, adjust preload first, and keep notes of each setup change to return to known baselines during practice sessions.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Measure free length and coil count against your existing springs and ensure the spring's installed length will not bottom out or over-compress your current shock setup.
The orange coating aids identification and the underlying corrosion-resistant steel provides typical longevity; avoid deep scratches and rinsing after wet use to maintain finish.
Start with small spring changes, set preload first, then evaluate damping and anti-squat settings; change one variable at a time and test on a surface similar to your event.
