Extended HSS spring for RC shock adjustments

The Yokomo YOKYS1380 HSS long shock spring in green is intended as an aftermarket replacement for general shock absorber assemblies on scale RC models. Supplied singly, it changes the spring curve behavior by offering a longer working length than standard short springs.

Because of its length, this spring shifts the relationship between compression and rebound and can be used to raise ride height without immediately altering damper pistons or oil. It is useful where extra suspension travel or increased static clearance is required.

Fitting is the usual coil-spring method: remove the shock cap and retainer, place the spring over the shaft onto the shock body, set the desired preload and reassemble. After installation, cycle the suspension to check for binding and ensure there is no interference with other chassis parts.

When evaluating handling, pair this spring with incremental preload changes and conservative damper adjustments so you can assess effects step by step. Treat it as one element in a broader setup process aimed at predictability and balance.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Fitment depends on the internal length and travel of your shock body. Verify the extra free length will not bottom out or bind before committing to installation.
Not necessarily. Begin with your existing oil and adjust only if additional damping is required after on-track testing.
Increase preload in small increments, check wheel travel and geometry, and avoid overloading the shock shaft to prevent binding.
