Precision Damping Fluid for Model Shocks

Supplied under the Yokomo YOKYS350 identifier and marked #350, this silicone shock oil is intended for R/C shock absorbers on model cars and buggies. It functions as the damping medium inside threaded shock bodies and cartridges, helping control both compression and rebound without implying any direct automotive application.

Practically, the oil determines how a shock reacts; a heavier viscosity slows movement while a lighter one allows faster compression and return. Tuning is best done in single-step changes of viscosity and validated in a controlled session, paying attention to how traction and body movement change over repeated impacts.

To fit the oil, disassemble threaded shock cartridges, drain existing fluid, check seals and pistons for wear or debris, then refill to the recommended level and reassemble. Perform the work on a clean surface and purge air by slowly cycling the shock piston during filling.

Durability note: the 350 grade gives a medium-firm damping response; adjust spring rates and preload alongside oil choice to find the sweet spot between compliance and chassis control. Make measured changes and retest rather than big jumps in viscosity.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
With proper storage and no contamination, silicone oils like the 350 grade remain stable for many runs; inspect and replace if discoloration or debris appears.
Most modern shock seals and piston materials are compatible with silicone oils, but inspect components during service and replace anything that shows swelling or wear.
Work in a clean area, use fresh containers and syringes for filling, and flush shocks thoroughly before introducing a different brand or viscosity.
