Single-grade silicone fluid for precision damping

This product, Yokomo YOKYS600, is a silicone shock oil sold as a single-grade #600 option. It is intended as an aftermarket accessory for scale R/C cars to adjust damping characteristics without altering hardware parts.

Tuning role explained: the oil changes the rate of rebound and compression inside oil-filled shocks, which affects traction, body attitude and responsiveness during turns and impact. The #600 grade increases damping relative to lighter oils, aiding control on smoother or faster circuits.

Refill procedure: prepare a clean workspace, disassemble shocks to remove pistons and shafts, drain existing oil, refill both shock body and piston with the new fluid, then reassemble and cycle the shaft to expel trapped air. Test on a short run and adjust oil grade or piston shims as needed rather than changing shock length.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Remove the shock from the car, disassemble on a clean bench, drain the old oil, pour in the new #600 fluid into the shock body and piston, then reassemble and slowly cycle the shaft to expel air before refitting.
You may need to reassess piston shims because higher-viscosity oil changes flow; try the new oil first and then change shim stack if further tuning is required.
Basic shock service tools and a clean syringe or pour spout are sufficient; work methodically to avoid trapping air and to keep contaminants out of the fluid.
