This accessory is a machined aluminium rod end ball intended for use in damper linkages and shock assemblies on scale RC cars. It offers a durable metal pivot point to replace worn plastic or lower grade ends and helps maintain consistent suspension geometry.
Fitment is user friendly for technicians familiar with shock servicing: detach the old rod end, inspect the thread engagement and bearing seats, press or thread the new rod end into position as appropriate, and confirm unrestricted articulation across the full stroke. Avoid compressing the ball housing when tightening clamps to prevent binding.
From a tuning perspective, the aluminium rod end changes pivot dynamics and reduces progressive wear at the linkage. Introduce it as part of incremental setup changes: install, drive to evaluate, then tweak springs or damping. If minimal friction is needed at the joint, pair the rod end with the correct bushings or bearings.
Care and inspection are straightforward: look for axial play at the ball seat, remove abrasive particles from the pivot area, and replace the rod end if scoring or looseness appears. Use light lubrication only where material compatibility and design permit.
