Product summary: diaphragm shock caps

This diaphragm shock cap set is designed for use on Yokomo and Associated shock bodies. The caps swap the usual solid top for a flexible nitrile membrane that helps hold internal pressure, lower oil aeration, and keep damping behavior more predictable under repeated compression cycles.

Only fit these to shock designs that match the cap shape and dimensions listed in the product name; confirm compatibility before swapping parts. By separating oil from air, the diaphragm reduces foaming and helps maintain stable damping throughout a run.

To fit the caps, remove the damper from the model, control the oil when opening the assembly, take off the original cap, position the diaphragm so it sits flush, and reassemble carefully to avoid pinching the edge. After reassembly, compress the shock slowly to test for leaks and smooth action.

For tuning, view the diaphragm as a reliability aid rather than a replacement for proper spring and oil choice; it helps protect your oil properties so your selected tune stays effective session after session.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Ensure the diaphragm sits flat with no folds, tighten caps evenly in small increments, and avoid over-torquing which can trap or tear the edge.
Lifespan varies by use and conditions, but regular inspection for nicks, hardening, or deformation will tell you when to replace them to maintain a good seal.
You may notice steadier response rather than a direct change in rebound; the diaphragm reduces aeration so the chosen oil and shim setup behave more consistently.
