Aluminium shims for precise spacing and tuning

This set provides eight precision aluminium shims at 3x6x3.0mm made for R/C applications. The black anodised coating helps resist wear and maintains consistent shim thickness across contact surfaces. Use these when incremental spacing or preload adjustments are needed.

Application notes: position shims between bearings, shafts, hubs, or mounting points to remove axial play, improve gear engagement, or tweak component alignment. Since each shim is a fixed 3.0mm, stacking combinations let you reach the required clearance without further machining.

Installation tips: clean all mating surfaces before installation to avoid trapping debris, line up shim edges with housing openings to prevent interference, and check running clearances after reassembling. For vibration-prone areas use an appropriate threadlocker or locking fasteners.

Tuning and handling: aluminium shims offer predictable, repeatable spacing adjustments valuable during chassis setup and iterative tuning processes, for instance when relieving driveline binding or centring rotating parts.

Each shim is a single, machined aluminium piece finished in black anodise, suited for light structural spacing and alignment duties on model kits.
Stack the 3.0mm shims until the stack matches the desired gap, then measure axial play and spin the assembly to ensure no binding before locking components in place.
