Extended shock spring for setup changes

The Yokomo YS-1560L is supplied as a longer orange-coded pro shock spring intended for RC-scale suspension tuning and setup adjustments. It works as a drop-in option when additional travel or shifted preload range is required inside a damper assembly, and it is presented as an accessory part for models rather than a vehicle component.

Practical role: a longer spring shifts the preload window and changes the effective static ride height, interacting with damper oil and piston selection to influence transient reactions and corner support. Expect ride-height changes and the need to retune damping after installation to keep handling predictable.

Installation notes: confirm internal shock length and spring seat dimensions before installing, take the shock off the model, decompress and swap springs while checking proper seating on the retainer and shaft, then reassemble. Perform a few controlled runs to verify smooth travel and to dial in preload and damping.

Tuning tips: make incremental adjustments to chassis balance and roll stiffness, pair spring changes with damping and anti-roll bar settings, and track the effects using measured ride-height and lap-time feedback rather than visual guesses.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The orange coating aids identification but does not indicate duty rating; inspect the spring for uniform winding and confirm it matches your expected usage before committing to heavy tracks.
Generally yes. A longer spring changes static height and preload, so adjust the collar and re-evaluate damping to restore the intended sag and handling balance.
Check that the full compressed length of the spring will not bind against the shock cap or top mount during full travel; measure to ensure safe clearance.
