Service notes for swapping king pin springs on GT1/YRX

This king pin spring is intended for front suspension tuning on Yokomo GT1 and YRX platforms. The pack contains two 0.50mm-wire springs that are slightly stiffer than stock, allowing subtle adjustment of steering return and initial camber response without changing the suspension geometry.

These springs are specified to fit the GT1 chassis variants and YRX models listed below. To fit, remove the front knuckle to access the king pin spring and install the replacement, then cycle the suspension to check for any interference. The firmer wire gives a firmer initial steering feel that helps stabilise the front end under high-traction driving.

Do I need special tools to replace the king pin spring?

Basic RC tools are sufficient: small pliers and a driver to remove the knuckle retainers. Take care when compressing the spring for removal.
