YZ-W91 series main shaft overview

The Yokomo YZ-631W1 serves as a direct replacement main shaft for the Works'91 TeamSpec-supported YZ-W91TS and YZ-W91 1/10 touring car platforms. It is intended as a service part for rebuilds and scheduled maintenance when refreshing the drivetrain or changing setup components.

Compatibility is restricted to the platform models listed; verify your chassis type before purchase. The main shaft transmits torque between gearbox internals and, when compromised, will degrade drivetrain feel and consistency under load.

Replacing the shaft follows the standard procedure for this chassis family: remove the gearbox and rear bulkhead, change the shaft and related bearings, then reassemble while maintaining correct alignment and bearing preload. Keep the workspace clean and use appropriate lubrication to ensure long life.

This replacement is primarily a maintenance item rather than a performance upgrade; fitting a new shaft restores original geometry and helps retain predictable throttle and cornering behavior after long use.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
If the chassis retains the factory gearbox layout for the Works'91 YZ-W91TS or YZ-W91, the YZ-631W1 will fit. Any non-standard gearbox mods may affect fitment, so check modifications before ordering.
Use light, RC-grade gearbox grease on bearings where specified and a small amount of oil on rotating interfaces as per usual RC maintenance practices; avoid over-greasing that can trap debris.
Listen for unusual gearbox noise, check for play at the diff outputs, and inspect performance for unexpected driveline lash; these signs often indicate internal wear that warrants full disassembly.
