Heavy-use replacement kingpins

The Yokomo ZM-414 Kingpin Set supplies four replacement kingpins intended for off-road suspension servicing. This note emphasises long-term wear control and restoring tighter steering response.

These parts are service replacements designed to remove play at pivot points in the suspension. Fitting new kingpins restores proper steering geometry and articulation when original pins show wear, and they are primarily for maintenance rather than an upgrade to increase performance.

Fitment follows standard hub service: take off the wheel and hub carrier, remove the old pin, install the ZM-414 replacement, then confirm the hub turns freely and shims or spacers are correct. Make sure retained clips or pins engage fully where applicable.

In routine setup work, replacing worn kingpins can reveal the real effects of shock and roll centre adjustments by removing unwanted slack. Always re-check alignment and steering free play after reassembly.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Look for side-to-side or axial movement at the hub, visible scoring on the pin, or uneven tyre wear; any of these suggest replacement is needed.
You can usually reuse shims and spacers if they are undamaged, but always verify stack height and clearance after fitting the new ZM-414 pins.
Apply a light film of lubricant where metal contacts metal if your hub design benefits from it, and keep the area free of grit to extend service life.
