1/10 High-Nose Shell Tailored to YRF 001 Series

This 1/10-scale on-road body shell has been formed to suit YRF 001 Series chassis types, providing a pronounced high-nose contour that changes leading-edge airflow compared with conventional formula shells. It is supplied as an aftermarket accessory for fitment and tuning trials rather than a one-size-fits-all option.

Fitting is done in the usual lexan body fashion: line the shell up with the chassis mounting posts, mark and create mounting holes to the chassis pattern, and trim wheel wells and suspension clearance gradually. Keep the areas around post mounts and the headrest intact during most trimming to secure a repeatable fit.

From a setup perspective, the high-nose contour shifts airflow over the front end and can modify aerodynamic loading on turn-in and mid-corner phases. Compensate changes through body mounting height, ride height and any available front wing adjustments after install.

When trimming, avoid removing excess material near post mounts and the headrest; these zones give the shell its structural support and reduce the risk of cracking under load.
After trimming, consider heat-forming or applying polycarbonate tape to vulnerable edges and masked areas to improve impact resistance during running.
Use paints formulated for lexan; they flex with the shell and do not embrittle the material. Apply light coats and allow full cure between layers.
Store the shell flat or suspended on soft supports away from direct heat and sunlight to prevent softening or distortion of the polycarbonate.
