The YS Engine YSE2192 insulator gasket is a purpose-made replacement for DZ170 CDI model engines in RC applications. Its function is to block heat transfer and electrical conduction while helping to reduce vibration passed into the airframe.

Compatibility is limited to DZ170 CDI engines as named. When fitting the gasket, clean and inspect mating surfaces for flatness, locate the gasket evenly between the engine flange and the mount plate, then hand-start fasteners and tighten evenly in a crisscross order until alignment is confirmed before final tightening. Do not over-tighten bolts to avoid compressing the gasket excessively.

In service the gasket assists in reducing heat soak and mechanical transmission to nearby components, which can aid in achieving repeatable runs and more stable needle and idle tuning on glow setups. Store a spare gasket to retain consistent mounting after servicing the engine.
