Installation guidance for YS-4L-8 rear damper

The Yokomo YS-4L-8 R. Shock Body functions as the outer shell for rear damper assemblies on off-road R/C machines. It positions internal damper components and aids in maintaining consistent piston travel and proper seal location.

Use this part when the original shock body shows damage or during component swaps for suspension setup. Follow common damper service procedures: drain the oil, remove the cap and shaft, carefully move internal parts into the new body, and verify all seals are seated before refilling oil. This item is intended strictly for R/C use and not for real vehicle applications.

When tuning, the body makes service and inspection easier; it does not change piston sizing or internal valving but helps ensure repeatable assembly during setup cycles. On reassembly, inspect for any burrs, confirm O-ring seating, and check shaft clearance to reduce leakage and sustain consistent damping.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Drain the oil, remove the cap and shaft, carefully transfer pistons and spacers into the new YS-4L-8 body, check seal seating, then refill with the oil you normally run.
No special fluids are required; use the shock oil and seal types you normally use for your shocks. Ensure seals are compatible and in good condition before assembly.
Verify O-rings sit flush, confirm piston travel is free without binding, and check shaft clearance to avoid rubbing that can cause leaks.
