Designed for skilled drifters, the Tamiya 84205 TB-03 VDS brings a shaft-driven 4WD arrangement that sharpens vehicle response during transitions. It builds on TA05-VDF heritage while focusing on balance and control for consistent drift lines.
The TB-03 VDS uses a 2.5mm carbon fibre lower deck with aluminium braces at the centre of the front and rear gearboxes to keep flex under control. The central 2-piece prop shaft places mass evenly with battery, motor and radio gear laid out to support neutral handling.
A four-wheel double wishbone setup with short reversible arms allows quick roll centre and track adjustments. TRF-style aluminium threaded shocks and low-friction piston dampers improve tunability, while the parallel steering geometry ensures matched steering angles for cleaner counter-steer.
Key components include a front ball differential and a rear spool to tune slip behaviour, plus aluminium turnbuckles, universal shafts and robust hex hubs for reliable service life. The hi-torque servo saver and steel diff joints are geared to withstand frequent drift practice.
This chassis is aimed at hobbyists who enjoy dialing in handling and experimenting with hop-ups. The TB-03 VDS responds well to setup tweaks, making it a dependable base for competitive drift builds.
