The Tamiya 42184 - 1/10 RC TRF417 Chassis Kit builds on the proven TRF416 foundation, using competition feedback to sharpen handling and reliability. This chassis reflects design choices made with championship performance in mind.

Component Changes That Matter

Key improvements include updated carbon damper stays front and rear, aluminum bulkheads and a rigid aluminum motor mount to lower weight while increasing component life. Moving the motor 2.0mm closer to the centre improves traction during acceleration, an important advantage with high power brushless setups.

Balanced for Racing Regulations

Developed to meet the strict standards of competitive racing, the TRF417 targets a minimum chassis mass of around 1,350g. The single piece aluminum motor mount reduces drivetrain friction and a 19T pulley yields an internal drive ratio near 1.94 to limit flex and keep speed under throttle-off conditions.

Improved Cornering and Response

A new steering link layout that is separate from the upper deck enhances compliance and corner grip. The ball diff housing has been beefed up for durability, and matching front and rear bulkheads simplify set up and repairs. Short reversible arms and precision uprights complete the package for predictable handling.
