Track-Focused Design from the TRF Line

The Tamiya 42205 TRF417X Chassis Kit brings TRF engineering to a 1/10 scale touring platform. Built for enthusiasts who refine setups, this kit offers a base that reacts predictably to adjustments on different surfaces.

Refined Lower Deck and Motor Mount

This version improves on past TRF models with a reworked lower deck that alters flex characteristics to aid traction at lower speeds. The new three-piece motor mount lets you experiment with chassis stiffness, so you can tune handling for carpet, asphalt or temporary tracks.

Suspension Tuning and Power Delivery

The 4WD dual belt drive delivers even torque transfer for smoother acceleration. The suspension uses carbon-reinforced plastic components and a wide range of adjustable points, enabling precise camber, toe and roll centre tuning to match driving preferences.

Specifications

For tuners and competitive hobbyists, the TRF417X provides a flexible foundation that responds to careful setup changes.

It is aimed at experienced builders, but a helpful club member or step by step reference will get a committed newcomer through the build.
The hex hubs are standard 24mm fitment and accept most touring car rims; confirm offset for your tyre choice.
The layout supports both LiPo and LiFe hard case packs; ensure secure mounting and correct polarity when installing.
Try a softer rear spring and slightly increased rear toe to improve rotation, then fine tune camber and diff preload for balance.
