Next-Level Chassis Design from Tamiya
The Tamiya TRF420 chassis kit evolves the TRF419 concept with targeted refinements for nimble handling and track adaptability. It blends serviceable components with racing-grade features to let tuners dial in balance and traction for different layouts.
Efficient Belt-Driven Drivetrain
The TRF420 uses a belt-driven 4WD system with a rear gear differential and direct pulley arrangement at the front and centre to keep torque delivery predictable. Updated gear diff pulley and case parts cut about 1.5g while helping to limit oil leaks for cleaner performance.
An integrated plastic piece for the front direct pulley trims roughly 2g and allows direct cup replacement without removing the whole pulley, making maintenance faster between sessions.
Flexible Suspension and Steering Options
New suspension arms with bushing inserts offer adjustable lever ratios so you can tune roll and grip for various surfaces. The rear arms are offset by 3mm to shorten the lower deck and enhance traction. Multiple mount positions and bushing choices expand toe, roll centre, and caster settings.
The steering geometry benefits from an upgraded linkage and pivot part, letting you quickly adapt steering feel for different tyres or track characteristics.
Lightweight Parts for Sharper Handling
Weight savings are evident in lighter wheel axles, about 1.5g down from earlier parts, and beefy 3mm stainless suspension shafts that improve durability. The overall package aims for balanced responsiveness and predictable behaviour on corner entry and exit.
